The men's and women's ones continue their winning ways and the men's fours get their first win!

On a day when all four seasons were in evidence, our first teams continued their unbeaten and winning way and our men's development team secured a very hard earned win in a game in which another young player made his debut. Elsewhere, losses were the order of the day with several teams reflecting on field position which was not converted into goals.

Our free-scoring Women's ones travelled with several Felixstowe sides to Colchester and came away with another impressive winnig margin, this time winning 5-0 over a stubborn Colchester second team. The promise shown last season and time on the training ground is now being shown consistently with table-topping performances! They now face Harleston Magpies fives and will hope for another 3 points. Though they coudn't match the winning margin, the men's ones came away from Harleston with maximum points to lie in 4th place but with a game in hand over the leaders who are just 3 points above. Facing Harleston threes, a lacklustre first half performance saw them trailing 2-0 at half-time to a well orgainised home team. However, galvanised by the half-time team-talk, Felixstowe scored three unanswered goals to take the points. They will need to start faster and play to their full potential this Saturday against unbeaten BSE ones.

It was a case of 'what might have been' for both our second teams. Playing away at Colchester, the men conceeded 3 goals inside the first 12 minutes to leave a very steep hill to climb. A free-scoring first half left them 6-2 behind, yet they played solidly in the second period to score the only goal of the half - they will be determined to reverse this result at home. On a positive result, they are just 3 points behind second place going into their next game against BSE threes. Our women played at home against a tenacious Colchester team and some equally tenacious weather as the rain drove down and the wind howled! Throughout the game, the women played solidly and put together some super passing sequences. However, again, their play was not rewarded with the goals that it warrented. Colchester were more clinical in front of goal and took full points with a 2-0 win, the final goal coming as the home side chased a point. The team is still in the mix however and lie solidly mid-table.

The Men's 3s played a well organised and experienced BSE side and in a match which became quite 'tetchy' played some flowing hockey in the first half which could have seen them 3 up. BSE 'steadied the ship' in the second half and left the home side to rue missed opportunities as they scored 2 second-half goals to emerge 3:1 victors. The threes, who continue with mixture of experience and youth, will be working hard to take full points away to Harleston fives. Currently, they lie in sixth place, just two points behind 4th position so everything to play for. Colchester proved to be a toiugh fixture for our women's thirds as they conceded nine against a well orgainsed and experienced Colchester team. The home side fully deserved the win but the 'rub of the green' was not with the Felixstowe side and again, the back of the net is proving so elusive. The effort and commitment in the team is admirable and sooner or later they can look forward to better times on the pitch.

Finally, the men's fours/develoipment team took to the pitch against an experienced and competitive IES fifth team. The match was notable for our first win, but also for Foggy's return to the pitch - he did us proud! As a development team, it was fantastic to see another young debutant as Rupert Long played the full 80' supported by Dad, Marcus. He did himself proud and will be real asset to the team. With Felix playing so consistently and Brodie to come back the development team is proving its worth. Another of our young players,Codie ,coudn't quite manage his goal scoring feat of last week - it was left to the returning Howard to convert his chance and see the fours winning 1-0 after a whole hearted defensive effort.
