Over the season, the Juniors have slowly grown in numbers but poor weather has led to several cancelled events and with it the chance to gain much needed match experience.

We were therefore delighted to see the sun shining as we took a very young but tenacious team to the developmenbt event at Culford. The squad of 9 had many players without any match experience and included three players aged 8 and under - they were not found wanting!

Over the morning, the team played 5 matches - 110 minutes of playing time and with the sun beating down, there were some tired legs by the end. Yet, under the watchful eye of Neil Turner and with a super effort from all, the players showed real improvement with each game. Though goals were hard to come by, they played their hearts out and should all be very proud of themselves because we are! They will hopefully train with even more enthiusiasm as we try to get more matches before season's end for ythe U10 and U12 squads.

A big thank you to the parents for their support in so many ways; Neil Turner for unwaveringly positive coaching and Jack Long for volunteering to umpire which he did so well. A final thank you to the organisers ( including a certain Dave Cooper) for such a well run morning.
